Everything you need to know about physiotherapy at New Age Rehab — from booking your first appointment to understanding your treatment and recovery.
New Age Rehab is one of North India’s leading chains of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Clinics, founded in 2006 by Dr. Jitesh Sharma PT. Over 18 years we have treated 36,000+ patients across 10 active locations in Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Rohtak, and Panipat.
No. You can book directly with New Age Rehab without a GP or specialist referral. Our physiotherapists will conduct a full clinical assessment at your first session. If we identify anything requiring further medical investigation, we will refer you to the appropriate specialist.
We treat a comprehensive range of conditions including musculoskeletal disorders (back pain, neck pain, joint pain, sports injuries), neurological conditions (stroke, paralysis, Parkinson’s, cerebral palsy), post-operative rehabilitation, cardiopulmonary conditions, and women’s health conditions. See our Conditions and Treatments pages for the full list.
Yes. New Age Rehab provides home care physiotherapy services for patients who are unable to travel to a clinic — particularly for early post-surgical recovery, neurological conditions, and elderly patients. Contact us at +91 99998 62434 or info@newagephysio.in to discuss home visit availability for your area.
Everything you need to know about booking and attending your first session.
You can book in three ways: (1) Use the Book an Appointment form on this website — select your preferred clinic, doctor, and time. (2) Call us on +91 99998 62434 (Mon–Sat, 10AM–7PM). (3) Email us at info@newagephysio.in. We aim to confirm all appointments within 24 hours.
Please bring any relevant medical reports, X-rays, MRI scans, or discharge summaries related to your condition. If you have had previous physiotherapy, bring any exercise programmes or treatment notes if available. Wear comfortable, loose clothing that allows access to the area being treated.
A standard session is 45–60 minutes. Your first assessment session may take slightly longer — up to 75 minutes — as your physiotherapist will conduct a comprehensive clinical evaluation before beginning treatment.
Yes. When booking, you can request a specific physiotherapist. We will do our best to accommodate your preference based on availability at your chosen clinic location. If you have a specific condition (e.g. neurological, women’s health), we will match you to the physiotherapist most suited to your diagnosis.
Questions about how physiotherapy works and what to expect from your treatment.
This depends entirely on your condition, its severity, and how long it has been present. Acute conditions (recent injuries) typically respond within 6–8 sessions. Chronic conditions may require 10–16 sessions over 8–12 weeks. Neurological and post-surgical rehabilitation programmes are longer — typically 3–6 months. Your physiotherapist will give you a realistic timeline at your first assessment.
Physiotherapy should not cause significant pain. Some techniques — such as joint mobilisation, deep tissue work, or shockwave therapy — may cause mild, temporary discomfort during the session. This is normal and part of the therapeutic process. Your physiotherapist will always communicate throughout the session and adjust based on your comfort.
Most patients notice meaningful improvement within the first 3–4 sessions, though this varies by condition. Acute conditions often show faster progress; chronic or post-surgical conditions require more time. Consistency — attending sessions as scheduled and completing home exercises — is the single biggest determinant of how quickly you recover.
Yes. A home exercise programme is an essential part of every treatment plan at New Age Rehab. Your physiotherapist will prescribe specific exercises at each stage of your recovery, explain how to perform them correctly, and progress them as your capacity improves. Consistent home exercise significantly accelerates your recovery.
Targeted questions about our most common conditions.
Yes. For the majority of slip disc (herniated disc / PIVD) presentations, physiotherapy is the recommended first-line treatment and avoids the need for surgery. Our approach combines manual therapy, targeted exercise rehabilitation, posture correction, and education — with a success rate that is well-supported by clinical evidence. Surgery is typically only considered if symptoms are severe, progressive, or include bladder/bowel involvement.
ACL reconstruction rehabilitation typically takes 9–12 months for a safe return to competitive sport. The graft placed during surgery requires time to mature biologically (a process called ligamentisation), which is why this timeline cannot be shortened. We follow a structured, criteria-based return-to-sport programme with clear milestones at each phase.
Yes — neurological physiotherapy is one of the most effective interventions for stroke recovery. The brain has a remarkable ability to rewire itself (neuroplasticity), particularly in the first 3–6 months after stroke. Early, intensive physiotherapy maximises this window. Our Advanced Residential Neuro-Rehabilitation Programme at Rohtak provides immersive daily physiotherapy for patients who require intensive neurological rehabilitation.
Yes. Chronic back pain (lasting more than 12 weeks) is one of the conditions physiotherapy is most effective at treating. An active, movement-based physiotherapy programme — combining manual therapy, core strengthening, and lifestyle modification — produces significantly better long-term outcomes than rest, painkillers, or injections alone. The key is addressing the root cause rather than managing symptoms.
About the equipment and treatment modalities available at New Age Rehab.
Our clinics are equipped with a comprehensive range of rehabilitation technology including: Class IV Laser Therapy, Shockwave Therapy (ESWT), Interferential Therapy (IFT), TENS, Therapeutic Ultrasound, Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) machines, Paraffin Wax Bath, Short Wave Diathermy, parallel bars, resistance training systems, treadmills, balance and proprioception platforms, and cardiovascular conditioning equipment.
Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) delivers high-energy acoustic pulses to chronically degenerated tendons, plantar fasciitis, and calcific tendinitis — stimulating healing in tissue that has stopped responding to other treatments. It can cause brief, tolerable discomfort during the session, which typically resolves within 24 hours. Many patients experience significant pain relief in the days following treatment.
Yes — New Age Rehab runs one of the most comprehensive Cardiac Rehabilitation Programmes in North India, following the internationally recognised 3-phase framework (in-hospital, outpatient, maintenance). It is available for patients recovering from CABG, heart attack, valve replacement, and LVAD. We also offer Pulmonary Rehabilitation for COPD and other respiratory conditions.
